Kawasaki Ninja 250 Speed Test

A 250 would be a great choice. One aberrant twist of the throttle at any time on a 750 and you're on the ground. What about a 750 cruiser, not sport bike? From what I understand they are geared really low. I'm leaning more towards a cruiser for my first bike, and the 650-750 range is where it seems most people start. Thoughts? most likly just a speed limiter, im not sure if bikes have those or not though. probably is. i may just be shifting wrong to. i have to get the clutch cable changed to so im out of commision right now lol. A 750 standard/cruiser is actually what I started on.

Definitely a great choice because since they aren't "sport bikes," they're set up to be a lot more stable and forgiving. This means lower likelihood of a crash. It's more easygoing on the highway, too.As far as performance, a 250 would be a little slower to accelerate, but easier to get into heavy turns with sharp lean angles. You can get an older 750 very cheaply if you search Craigslist. My '82 CB750 came with minor issues at $650.
